Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Age: approx 2 years old Weight: 13 lbs My adoption fee is $ 550 which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Snowball has rolled his way up to Rhode Island and we at Small Dog Rescue couldn't be happier! This little fella is a BLAST! He is the coolest little dog, so full of personality and a favorite of his Texas rescue staff. We believe he is a Chihuahua mix, with possibly some Jack Russell Terrier in the mix. He is 13 pounds and 2 years old and built like a little white fire hydrant. SPOTS FOR DAYS, the most important one being on the top of his head (see photos). We think it may be his on/off button! Snowball is terrific on leash and gets along very well with other dogs. Stay tuned because we will be sharing more about him in the coming days. Apply to adopt Snowball! He may be the most fun you will ever have! If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website: .smalldogrescuene/

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
