Bridgette is a 1.5-year-old, 35-pound Lab mix with a heart as gentle as her sweet little face. She’s very shy and timid, and the outside world can feel a bit scary for her, so she’s looking for a calm, understanding family who can help her build confidence at her own pace. Bridgette is an indoor girl through and through. She’s potty-trained using pads, loves long naps, and enjoys quietly chewing on her toys while watching movies. At home she keeps to herself, moves softly through the day, and happily accepts any treats that come her way. Because she’s so sensitive and easily overwhelmed, Bridgette would do best as the only dog in a peaceful home. She needs a very patient, caring family who can offer her the safety, love, and reassurance she deserves. If you have a quiet home and a big heart for shy pups, Bridgette may be the perfect companion to blossom by your side. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find her forever family. Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Bassetdor, a delightful cross between the Basset Hound and the Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity for its unique blend of traits. Originating from the desire to combine the Basset's laid-back nature with the Lab's trainability and friendliness, this medium-sized dog typically inherits the Basset's characteristic long ears and short legs, often paired with the Lab's athletic build and expressive eyes. Their coat can vary in color and texture, often reflecting the common hues of both parent breeds. Temperamentally, Bassetdors are known for being affectionate, loyal, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets. While adaptable, their moderate energy levels mean they thrive with regular exercise and may not be ideally suited for very small apartments without sufficient outdoor activity. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from both sides, such as hip and elbow dysplasia from the Labrador and disc issues or ear infections common to the Basset Hound.
