Meet Dozer, one of our longest residents, who has been patiently waiting for his perfect family since 10/29/25. This sweet boy is estimated to have been born in May 2025, making him just over a year old and ready to start the next chapter of his life. At around 45 pounds, Dozer is the perfect medium-sized companion. This handsome Terrier mix previously spent time in a foster home, where he was reported to be housebroken and a wonderful house guest. About Dozer: Gets along well with other dogs Cat-friendly Walks nicely on a leash Previously lived successfully in a foster home and was reported to be housebroken Loves adventures but can get car sick Kid compatibility is currently unknown Dozer has so much love to give and would thrive in a home where he can finally settle in and be part of a family. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
