Description

Dog Breed: Rottweiler. On November 7, 2025, a man driving to work made a heartbreaking discovery on the side of the highway near Eloy. He passed a deceased Rottweiler puppy lying along a remote stretch of road where there are no homes or businesses for miles. About half a mile later, he came across two more Rottweiler puppies abandoned and alone in the desert near the roadway. He immediately pulled over to help. After spending a couple of hours patiently trying to gain their trust, he was finally able to coax both frightened puppies into his car. He brought them to the shelter in Apache Junction, but was told they had no available space. He was advised to either take them to Casa Grande or contact us, and thankfully, he chose to call Rotten Rottie Rescue. The puppies, now named Jasmine and Aladdin, were approximately six to eight months old and appeared to be littermates. They were extremely fearful of people and had no training at all. Wanting to give them the best chance at a successful future, we sent both dogs to live with our professional trainer for a month. During training, Jasmine and Aladdin learned all of their basic obedience skills. They became crate trained, developed excellent recall, and now walk beautifully on a leash. Most importantly, they gained confidence. While they still approach new people cautiously, they no longer run and hide. Jasmine does take a little extra time to trust, but with leadership and kindness, she quickly becomes deeply loyal and affectionate. Aladdin was adopted immediately after completing his training. Jasmine is currently being fostered by one of our experienced foster homes who also trained with our trainer. This allows her to continue building on everything she has learned while she waits for her forever family. As part of her adoption, Jasmine’s new family will receive free training sessions at our trainer Amanda’s location. Adopters may attend as many sessions as they feel they need at no cost. Jasmine has already overcome so much in her young life. She is now ready for the safe, loving home she has always deserved. Jasmine is such a pretty girl and so sweet. You will love her!! Our Adoption Process: If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. This ensures the dog you are interested in is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our Adoption Application by visiting our website at .rottenrottie, clicking on Adopt a Rottweiler Adoption Application, and submitting the form online. After reviewing your answers, if we feel the dog you are interested in is not a match for your family, we may recommend a different Rottweiler companion. Once we determine which dog is best for you, we will schedule a meeting at their current home, where they feel most comfortable and act naturally. We require a home check to ensure each dog is going to a safe environment. To finalize the process, an adoption contract must be signed. We also require a rehoming fee, which is typically $500 for most adults and $350 for seniors (6 years and older) or Rottweiler mixes of any age (excluding puppies). Fees for puppies fluctuate depending on the investment required for the litter and whether they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary for our organization to continue rehoming Rottweilers in need. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have tested negative for heartworms. Each dog comes with a collar and a leash. We also address any injuries or illnesses they had upon arrival or developed in foster care; any such conditions will be fully disclosed to the adopter prior to the adoption. Please Note: In almost all cases, we do not adopt to out-of-state applicants. On rare occasions, if we feel it is a PERFECT match for both you and the dog, we may make an exception for our neighbors in Las Vegas. If you live in Las Vegas and would like us to consider your application, please fill out our application

Rottweiler

A.K.A.: Rottweil butcher's dog, Rottweil dog, Rottie, Rotty, Rott, Rot, Rotts, Rotties, Butchers dog, German Rottweiler
Overview:

The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
