Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location Dutchess Rose is a sweet and sassy girl! She expects to be treated like the royalty she is! Dutchess Rose came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Her family was facing homelessness and made the heartbreaking decision to ensure she would be safe. That kind of love says so much about how special she is. Born in September 2022, Dutchess Rose is fully vetted and ready for a fresh start. Her previous family shared that she’s good with kids! We have determined she will need a home with no other dogs and no cats, where she can be your one and only princess. She can be a little timid at first, but once she learns to trust you, her sweet and loyal personality truly blossoms. She is house-trained and should settle into a routine quickly in a calm, patient home. This beautiful three-year-old girl is simply looking for someone who will help her feel safe and secure again. If you have a quiet home and an open heart, Dutchess Rose could be the devoted companion you’ve been waiting for. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
