Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 410. RENEE now known as LOLA Female, spayed 3 years old Pit Bull Terrier 37 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with dogs, cats and kids. Meet Lola Lola is a sweet girl with a huge heart and a deep love for her people She’s affectionate, loyal, and incredibly tuned in to her humans - always happy to snuggle, relax and be close. Lola can thrive as an only dog or in a home with other dogs when introductions are done thoughtfully She has shown neutral, appropriate behavior during structured dog interactions and even handled a meet-and-greet with a much larger dog calmly and intelligently. She has also peacefully coexisted with a cat, making cat-friendly homes a possibility At home, Lola is truly easy: fully house-trained, non-destructive, respectful of the home, and not a big barker. She can be left out without getting into trouble and settles beautifully into daily routines. She enjoys toys and play but is excellent at reading the room - when it’s time to relax, she’ll happily curl up beside you and unwind Lola is exceptionally smart and eager to learn, already picking up small commands quickly. On walks, she can be distracted by movement (a typical prey-drive trait), so she’ll benefit from a handler who stays engaged and consistent on leash—something she’s very capable of mastering. She may be a bit vocal at the start of car rides but improves quickly with reassurance and positive exposure Ideal home: Someone looking for a loving, intuitive, low-maintenance companion who is both playful and calm. Lola is a special little dog who bonds deeply and brings so much warmth to the home If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger snuggle game, Lola might just be your perfect match. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
