Description
Dog Breed: Boston Terrier. Meet Noxeema Jackson, a sweet, silly, and wonderfully easy-going 12 to 13-year-old Boston Terrier. This fabulous queen is ready to soak up all the love in her forever home. At 25 lbs, she’s the perfect compact companion—quiet, gentle, and happiest when she’s right by your side. Personality Noxeema is a mellow girl with a lovable, quirky charm. She’s affectionate, calm, and has a hilarious side-eye that will absolutely steal your heart. She enjoys simple pleasures: snacks, naps, couch time, and more snacks. Home Life & Training Noxeema is an easy, low-maintenance companion: she’s crate trained, walks politely on a leash, and is fully house trained—though she does need frequent potty breaks, due to her health. With low energy, low exercise needs, and minimal grooming requirements, she fits easily into many lifestyles. She’s also wonderful with dogs, cats, and people. While a home with a yard is ideal due to her frequent outdoor potty needs, she can thrive in an apartment as long as she gets regular trips outside. She’s very quiet and settles well in a crate during a typical workday. ❤️ Health Noxeema has both Cushing’s Disease and Addison’s Disease, which means her body struggles to regulate cortisol levels. Because she has both conditions, she is not currently on medications, but she does require a family—and vet team—who can monitor her closely and act quickly if she begins to feel unwell. She’s stable and doing well in foster care, but attentiveness is key. Her Perfect Family Noxeema is looking for someone who adores cuddles, appreciates a calm companion, and is committed to keeping a close eye on her health. She doesn’t need an active lifestyle—just love, comfort, and a soft spot on the couch. ✨ What Makes Her Special She’s funny, affectionate, and full of personality. Her expressive “judgy” side-eye will have you laughing every day, and her easy-going nature makes her the perfect cozy companion. If you’re looking for a fabulous, gentle, sweet senior lady who just wants to love and be loved, look no further. Like her namesake, Noxeema Jackson will bring color, life and glitter to your life. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100. Breed overview
Boston Terrier
A.K.A.: American Gentleman, Boston Bulldog, Roundheads, Little Blue Boys, Tuxedo Terrier
Overview:
The Boston Terrier, affectionately known as the "American Gentleman," originated in the late 19th century in Boston, Massachusetts, making it one of the few breeds developed in the U.S. Physically, they are compact and muscular, typically weighing between 12 and 25 pounds, with a distinctive "tuxedo" coat pattern—black or brindle with white markings on the muzzle, chest, and often a blaze between the eyes. Their expressive, round eyes and erect, bat-like ears are hallmark features. Temperamentally, Boston Terriers are friendly, intelligent, and lively, known for their charming personalities and unwavering loyalty. They adapt well to various living situations, making them excellent companions for both families with children and individuals in apartments, as long as they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. Regarding health, they are a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed, so care must be taken in hot weather to prevent overheating, and they can be prone to eye conditions and patellar luxation. Overall, their delightful nature and manageable size make them a beloved choice for many.
