Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. I'm Bierce, a loving 20 lb, 2.5 month old cattle dog mix. I'm a calm little boy. Snuggles and naps are my favorite, but I also love to wrestle and play. Full grown I'll be a medium sized dog between 45-50 lbs. I sleep in a puppy pen with my brothers quietly every night, am working hard on using the dog door, I am learning to walk on a leash and my house training is coming along nicely, but there is still work to do. My best trait is my calm personality. Whatever is happening around me is fine with me and I'll just hang out and watch the world go by. I'm the cute one my coat is solid black with white markings on my back feet. I don't mean to brag, but I'm quite the handsome dog. My foster mom says that training would be really beneficial because I'm a working dog and training gives me a job to do. Apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
