CREMITA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Cremita Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of November 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 36 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! Cremita has been very respectful of the resident cat so far. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Cremita would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Cremita is Looking For: Cremita is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She's eager to get her forever family in the DC area. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures her new humans can dream up - yes, please! Burning all that awesome young-dog energy while exploring her new area and playing with pup pals are high on her wish list. But right at the top is knowing she's safe and loved, where she belongs. What My Foster Says About Me: Cremita was a little nervous and shy at first but she's such a brave girl! She loves playing with my dog. They wrestle pretty much daily, I think she'd wrestle all day but he's 12 and while playful has his limits. She likes walks (but needs Hugo with her) but LOVES racing around the yard. She happily rolls over belly rubs - is a bit more scared of tall people and prefers us to sit next to her or on the floor. She's been great in the house with potty training and we've had only a couple of accidents while setting into a routine. We're still working on her signs for needing to go out but for now just go out frequently. She's truly a sunny girl and it is hard to see her so scared at the events. She loves all dogs and warms up to most people so far. It does take her awhile to warm up and trust but it's very obvious she wants to. She has been very respectful of my cat - she's definitely curious but doesn't chase her or bark at her. She's been so brave - and I don't push her too much but she is just a sweet sweet girl. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
