Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $20. Hi, I’m Wicket! 36 lbs • 2 years old • Professional Good Boy They say I’ve got a few “strikes” against me… I’m black, I’m grown, and I’m a bully mix. But you know what? I’m really hoping someone out there is willing to look past all that and see ME — a sweet, goofy, people-loving pup who just wants a family to call my own. ❤️ I love every human I meet, and I’m great with other dogs too! I’m the kind of guy who just wants to make you smile, go on adventures, and snuggle after a long day. My adoption fee is sponsored and only $20, and that covers me being neutered and getting all my vaccines before I go home with you. I’m really hoping you’ll come meet me… I promise I’m worth it. If you’d like to meet me (and I really hope you do!), please call 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
