Description
Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) / Mixed (short coat). If we had to pick just one word to describe Rosie, it would probably be ‘easygoing.’ But why stop at just one word? Rosie’s also affectionate, cuddly, playful, good on leash, loves to ride in the car, and gets along well with other dogs. She could fit into almost any family and living situation. As long as she’s with you, she’s happy. In short, she’s the total package. Just 7 years old, Rosie is well past puppy antics but still has the energy to be a good walking companion or child’s playmate. She’s up to date on all her vaccines and got a clean bill of health from the vet. Her adoption fee is just $300. If you’re looking to share the holidays with a new family member, Rosie may be the one! Email Save the Strays for our application.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
