Description
Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). Adoption Fee: 500.00. Monte is a 6-month-old Doberman with a big heart and a wonderfully goofy personality. He who wants to be as close to his people as physically possible—often snuggling up on the couch, drifting off to sleep, and occasionally sliding right off when he shifts positions. Monte loves his routine and is a quick learner. He is leash trained, crate trained and does well in the car. He truly shines when he’s out and about with his people. He enjoys walks, runs, and outings—Home Depot trips are a favorite—and would thrive with an active family that plans to include him in daily life rather than leaving him on the sidelines. As a young, high-energy Doberman, Monte is eager to please and wants to do the right thing. He is currently working with our trainer to build a solid foundation in leash manners and basic obedience and will require continued training and structure as he matures. Consistency, mental stimulation, and appropriate exercise will be key to his success. Monte would do best in a home with a fenced yard - a physical fencing is preferred, or will need a committed effort to properly train him for an invisible fence. Monte will do best having another dog in the home, as he loves playing with his canine foster siblings and seems to benefit from canine companionship. Because of his age, energy level, and breed-specific needs, Monte’s adopter must have prior Doberman ownership experience and the time to devote to a young, active puppy. In the right home, Monte will be an incredibly rewarding companion—affectionate, loyal, and always ready to be part of the action. If you’re an experienced Doberman owner looking for a smart, loving young pup who wants to grow, learn, and experience life right alongside you, Monte may be your perfect match. Overview:
The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately. Dobermans can thrive in active families who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation, but their need for space and activity generally makes them less suitable for small apartment living unless exceptionally well-exercised. Regarding health, they are predisposed to certain conditions like Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), Von Willebrand's Disease, and Wobbler Syndrome, so responsible breeding and veterinary care are paramount.
