Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). #A5711002 Cashew is an 8-month-old, 56 lb neutered male Pitbull mix with a striking brindle and white coat and a big, joyful personality. Originally found as a stray in July 2025 and later surrendered by his owner on November 17, 2025, Cashew is a young, vibrant pup bursting with enthusiasm for life. He’s fully vaccinated, healthy, and ready to find an active, experienced adopter who can match his energy and guide him with structure and patience. Described as “100% super-charged high energy,” Cashew is playful, affectionate, and wiggly — always ready for adventure. He’s friendly with people and curious about other dogs, though he’ll need continued socialization and training to channel his excitement. Cashew is treat-motivated, eager to please, and full of potential, but he’s not ideal for a first-time dog owner. With consistency, exercise, and confident leadership, this lively pup will thrive and become a loyal, fun-loving companion. -8 months old, neutered male, 56 lbs -Pitbull mix, brindle and white coat -Originally a stray (7/5/2025); owner surrender (11/17/2025) -Up to date on all vaccinations -High-energy, wiggly, and affectionate -Friendly and social; interested in other dogs -Treat-motivated and eager to learn -Needs structure, leash work, and consistent training -Best for an experienced, active adopter -Excited for life and ready to explore the world CASHEW’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/zn-lrMLTSJQ For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lorunitedhopeforanimals ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
