Kenicke is a high energy boy who loves the outdoors and playing with other dogs. While he certainly needs the opportunity to run and burn off his doggo energy, he also enjoys the opportunity to relax and show you what an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy he really is! He thrives being around people and will crawl into your lap for snuggles. Lil Kenicke comes to you fully crate trained where he sleeps at night - although we suspect he’d prefer to curl up with his humans. He is working on his house training and could use help to give him that final push to get him to 100% house broken. The good news? He keeps his kennel clean, so we know he can do it! Given his spunky temperament, he would do best in a home where structure and gentle consistent guidance is offered – someone who can remind him that even though he’s certainly adorable, he’s not the boss! He would also do best in a home with children older than 10 years of age. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet this ragamuffin of a boy and offer him a loving home. He can’t wait to meet his person! Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
