Description
Dog Breed: Basset Hound / Beagle / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 300. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescueyahoo) for more information about this pet. Meet Spot! Spot is a 2 and a half year old beagle basset mix hoping Santa brings him a new home for the holidays! He is about 26 pounds and up to date on shots and neutered. Spot is your typical beagle basset who is high energy and has a tendency to grab his own treats off the counters! He is house trained and crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He was relinquished to OBHR because he was one of 4 high energy dogs in the house and it was too much to handle. Basically because he is a hound dog! So if you are familiar with hounds he will fit right into your family! He will need a home with a fenced in yard and someone who can keep him active and exercised! He loves to play with his toys and snuggle, go for hikes and loves ice cubes and baby carrots! His adoption fee is $300 and he is currently located in Columbus. if interested please apply at ohiobassetrescue and once approved email us at ohbassetrescueyahoo. We adopt only to Ohio and states that border Ohio.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Bagle Hound is an endearing crossbreed, a charming blend of the Basset Hound and the Beagle, originating from the desire for a well-rounded companion with the best traits of both parents. Physically, they are typically medium-sized, ranging from 20-45 pounds, boasting the Beagle's alert expression and often the Basset's distinctive long, floppy ears. Their short, dense coat usually comes in a variety of hound colors. Temperamentally, Bagle Hounds are known for being friendly, affectionate, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets. They are quite social and enjoy being part of household activities, though their hound heritage means they possess a strong scent drive and can be vocal. While adaptable to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a secure yard is ideal for their curious nature. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns common to their parent breeds, such as ear infections, joint issues, and obesity, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet and regular veterinary check-ups.
