He clearly is unsure what the world expects of him, but he is going to "give it a try" anyway! LOL Max would be great in an active household that is prepared to show him the world is small manageable steps. He is very intelligent and is learning quickly, so I think his shyness is simply inexperience. Max does well with other dogs and kids over 8.
