Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). ***STAFF & VOLUNTEER FAVORITE*** Looking for a hiking buddy, walking buddy, or just that one guy who makes life more fun? Quest is your guy! He loves pets, knows how to sit and shake (when heâs not too excited about life), and even enjoy listen to some live guitar music because duh, heâs cultured. Quest recently went to a foster home and his FoMa says they are 'obsessed'. He hasn't had any accidents in the house, is so good with his commands, and is a super cuddler. He's very respectful of kitchen boundaries, has not tried to get anything off the counter or anyone's plate, yet he still is very helpful at vacuum the floor! Dogs over 40 pounds are always FREE. Adoptions include spay/neuter, up-to-date shots, one free training session with Micky's House, one year free membership PG&J's Dog Park, and more! CHAMPION dogs come with extra perks! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
