Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? Sunshine is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Sunshine is a labradoodle. She does shed. We cannot guarantee she is hypoallergenic. Sunshine has shown signs of a possible chicken allergy. When fed foods containing chicken, she has become sick, but she has done very well on a fish-based diet. Continuing this diet will be important to help her stay happy and healthy. Weight: 54 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Sunshine requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Sunshine is looking for a home with another friendly, confident dog who can serve as a mentor and help her feel secure as she continues to learn about the world. Because of her sensitive nature, young children may be overwhelming for Sunshine. A quieter home or one with older, respectful children would likely be the best fit for her comfort and confidence. What is my personality like? Sunshine is a sweet, mellow Lab–Poodle mix with a gentle and shy personality. Sunshine is still discovering what it means to be a family pet. Much of home life is new to her, and she would greatly benefit from a patient, understanding family willing to show her the routines, comforts, and joys of being part of a home. She will need basic training, gentle guidance, and time to adjust as she learns your household expectations. With patience, consistency, and the companionship of another dog, Sunshine has all the potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion. She’s ready for a family who will move at her pace and help her build confidence as she begins this next chapter of her life. How do I act when I first meet new people? She takes a little time to feel comfortable in new situations, but once she does, her calm and loving nature truly shines through. Other tips and tidbits: Sunshine's birthday is 10/11/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a charming and increasingly popular hybrid breed, originating in Australia in the late 1980s with the goal of creating a guide dog for a visually impaired individual allergic to dog hair. This delightful canine combines the best traits of its parent breeds: the intelligent Poodle (Standard) and the friendly Labrador Retriever. Physically, Labradoodles boast a range of sizes and coat types, from wavy fleece to curly wool, often shed-reduced, making them a potential option for individuals with mild allergies. Their coats come in various colors, including cream, chocolate, and black. Temperamentally, they are known for being sociable, intelligent, and trainable, making them excellent family pets. They thrive on human companionship and require moderate exercise to stay happy and healthy. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they generally prefer homes with yards over small apartments, though daily walks are essential. Common health considerations, inherited from their parent breeds, can include hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain cancers, so choosing a reputable breeder is crucial for a healthy companion.
