Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Clyde is a sweetheart of a dog with a bright smile and the kind of warm, gentle energy that makes him instantly lovable. This 1.5 year old Border Collie / Lab mix weighs 39 pounds and has a soft face and brown eyes that could melt anyone’s heart. He is easygoing, friendly, and still has a fun bit of puppy energy that keeps life interesting. Clyde is learning the basics and understands Sit, and he is doing well with house training after only one accident in nearly two weeks. He is not a fan of the crate yet and will need continued positive training to build confidence in crate training. He loves going on walks, greeting other dogs, and getting pets from anyone willing to offer them. He can be bouncy when excited, but he is smart and eager to learn with the right guidance. This sweet boy does wonderfully with older kids, other dogs, and new people. He has not met cats yet. Clyde walks with some enthusiasm and light pulling, and he does get car sick, so shorter or slower introductions to car rides may help him adjust over time. Clyde would be a great match for a home with a yard, space to stretch out, and an active person or family who enjoys daily walks or hiking adventures. He will thrive with continued training, love, and structure. If Clyde sounds like the perfect hiking buddy and companion for your home, please contact us for more information. Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
