Dog Breed: Terrier / Corgi / Mixed. A FUN LITTLE FRIEND: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 16 lbs. Hi, I’m Foxtrot! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the nice volunteers, who spend time with and take great care of me. Now I hear that I’m ready to find a wonderful family of my very own – where I can love and be loved furever! I hope to meet them very soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I’d like to be your only dog please. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, friendly, happy pup with a fun, active spirit! When it was bath time, I turned into a calm, relaxed sweetheart who soaked up every bit of attention. I even let out the most expressive little moans and groans of delight during my shampoo scrub – they say it’s pretty adorable. Overall, I’m a super sweet dog who loves people, enjoys having fun, and brings a joyful energy wherever I go! / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! Check back soon to see what I've learned. / The crate isn’t my favorite place, but I do pretty well in it at the shelter, especially if a treat is involved when it’s time to go into it. / I’ve been having some accidents on the shelter schedule, so I’ll want my family to help finish up my potty training. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like spending time and having fun with the nice volunteers. Walks are fun, too, and I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we’ll enjoy doing together. / Other than spending too much time in my crate, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a fun little fellow looking for a wonderful family to love! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
