Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Meet Lizzie! Lizzie is a lovable, affectionate girl looking for a forever home to call her own. She's as sweet as can be and thrives on human companionship. She’s excellent in her crate, waiting patiently to be let out, and she’s fully housebroken. Lizzie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and currently on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. This friendly pup gets along well with other dogs, though slow introductions are always recommended to ensure everyone gets off on the right paw. Lizzie is a strong girl with plenty of enthusiasm, so a home with older children is best—she may accidentally knock over little ones when she gets excited. Lizzie loves long walks, playtime, and especially cuddling up with her favorite people. With her gentle heart and joyful spirit, she’ll make a wonderful addition to any loving home. Please only apply if you are serious about adopting. Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
