Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 600. Meet Nori! Nori is a 4-month-old Cane Corso / Pit Bull mix who lives life at full speed. She’s basically a tiny torpedo with paws — zooming through the house one minute and crashing into cuddle mode the next. This girl is goofy, energetic, and guaranteed to keep you laughing. Don’t let the chaos fool you though — once Nori trusts you, she’s incredibly loyal and loves being close to her people. She’s currently working on potty training and kennel training and is learning more every day with routine and positive reinforcement. Nori would do best with a confident canine sibling who can help her build confidence and show her how to be a brave girl. She’s been exposed to cats and is curious about them, so slow introductions will be key. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but her foster family is helping her practice being bold and brave. With patience, love, and consistency, Nori is going to grow into an amazing companion. Nori is from Owner Surrender. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
