Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 600. Meet Nori! Nori is a young Cane Corso / Pit Bull mix with a big personality and endless puppy energy. She still has her signature wrecking-ball zoomies, followed by "chomp time"- she loves a good bone to chew on, and then immediate cuddle sessions when she’s ready to recharge. She’s goofy, fun, and guaranteed to make you laugh every single day. Nori has grown so much in confidence and is loving life. She adores other dogs, people, kids, and even cats, making her a wonderfully social pup who enjoys being part of the action. Whether it’s playtime or hang-out time, Nori is happy to be included. She is continuing to work on potty training and kennel training and does best with consistency and positive reinforcement. With her happy, outgoing personality and affectionate nature, Nori is ready to thrive in just about any loving home. She’s going to grow into an incredible companion for someone lucky enough to call her theirs. Nori is from Owner Surrender. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
