LOXLEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Loxley Best Guess for Breed: Lab retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of Dec. 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 48 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Loxley should not go to a home with cats. Heartworm information: Loxley is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Loxley has completed this activity restriction period. If you’re hoping for a wonderful companion with classic Lab charm, Loxley just might be the perfect match. What My Foster Says About Me: Loxley is a lovely dog who will make a someone a great pet. She enjoys greeting other dogs on our walks and loves coming back home to play with her stuffed animals, which she tosses in the air, catches, and chews happily. She rests by spreading out on the floor or curling up at my feet. She is a pretty dog with a beautiful lab head and muscular body. She is handling house training like a pro, signaling when she needs to go out by restless walking and standing by the front door. And once she settles down, she sleeps through the night in her crate. Unlike many labs, she sheds very little. She is still learning how to walk on a leash without pulling. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
