Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Meet Frosty! He may sound like a cool guy, but this cutie is all warmth. At 9 months old, he’s full of energy and loves playtime, especially romping around with his foster siblings. Frosty is curious and loves learning new things—and once he warms up to you, he adores a good neck rub. He’s a high jumper and an enthusiastic chewer—he can happily spend hours with a toy! While he enjoys playing in the snow, he’s not a big fan of the cold, so he loves wearing his own little sweatshirt to stay cozy. House training is still a work in progress during this cold winter. Frosty would thrive in a patient, encouraging home where his playful spirit and soft, snuggly personality can truly shine. Current weight: 28 lb. Adoption fee: $325 To apply: fcrspca/adopt/

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
