Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). #A5739125 Meet Roxy , a 3-year-old Pitbull girl who turns heads with her sparkling champagne-colored coat and striking light eyes that gleam with excitement. ✨ Even though she’s about 10 pounds underweight and absolutely deserving of all the pampering, she’s still a sturdy little lowrider - like taking a very enthusiastic bowling ball out for a walk! She’s currently being treated for a mild doggy cold, but that hasn’t slowed her eagerness to explore, sniff the world, and make new friends. This social butterfly has truly never met a person or pup she didn’t like. That said, she got a bit too excited around a tiny dog, so she’s best suited for a home with no cats or small dogs. If you’re looking for a joyful, people-loving companion with a heart of gold, Roxy is ready to roll right into your life! -3 year old tan Pitbull mix -63 pound female -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Roxy has a little doggy cold, which is already being treated, so she hasn’t been spayed yet - she will need to be adopted on a health waiver, adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/17/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes and no idea why, as Roxy is a big sweetie! -very strong and pulls a bit on leash, so needs a confident handler; may be potty trained and familiar with basic commands, but we only had her for a bit due to her cold and couldn’t confirm everything ROXY’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/1B85L2SSR2A For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaaunitedhopeforanimals ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
