Description
Dog Breed: Terrier (medium coat). A5740931 Meet Justina , a 12-year-old terrier mix cutie who looks like a tiny black-and-white Dalmatian, complete with floppy ears that bounce and flap when she prances about. Though she’s not quite her usual self after picking up a little doggy cold at the shelter, her sweetness hasn’t dimmed - she still loves nothing more than to cuddle in close and soak up your affection. She also has a few skin itchies that may be from past fleas, likely easy to treat with baths, diet changes, or medication, though an outside vet check would be best to ensure she’s comfy. At her age, Justina is simply looking for a soft, loving place to land. She deserves to live out her golden years wrapped in comfort, care, and quiet dignity. If you’re ready to be her safe haven, this gentle senior is ready to adore you! -12 year old black and white Terrier -17 pound spayed female -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! however, she has not been spayed due to age, and and due to her little itchies and doggy cold, she will need to be adopted on a health waiver, with adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -easy on leash, potty trained, calm and laid back with a low energy level JUSTINA’S VIDEO: youtube/shorts/9_ For more information, contact volunteer Karen at karenklink94hotmail Photo Credit Stevehymon Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/ Use their unique ID NUMBER. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
