Now it's her turn to be the star of the show, and she's ready for a fresh start with a loving family who will let her settle in and shine. Harley may be a calm, gentle girl at heart, but don't let that fool youshe's still got a little sparkle and plenty of personality. She enjoys her quiet moments, cozy naps, and being near her people, but she also has a playful side that pops out when she's feeling comfortable and happy. She doesn't need endless exercise to be content, making her a great match for someone who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle with just the right amount of fun mixed in. She is crate trained and currently learning to feel more confident on leash, and she's making great progress with patience, encouragement, and consistency. Harley would thrive in a home that offers routine, understanding, and lots of gentle reassurance as she continues to build her confidence. Harley's adoption fee is $125, and she comes spayed, microchipped, up to date on her basic annual vaccinations, and heartworm negativeready to move in and start her next chapter. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
