Description
Dog Breed: West Highland White Terrier Westie (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $325 plus tax. We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. She is a very social girl and very curious about everything as most westies are. She is working on her potty training but she has her smooching skills down. Carla does need a fenced yard as she does not do a leash yet. Carla is about 6 years old and weighs about 18 pounds. Her adoption fee is $325 plus tax of $14.63 for a total of $339.63. My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental and microchipping.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
