Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Kendall is an eneretic, 5-year-old Pittie mix. She is treat obsessed and smart. Kendall has learned basic commands and walks well on a leash. She loves to play and be near people, even after all she's been through. Kendall was neglected and abused, but she's a survivor. She was hit by a car and has mild fecal incontinence but still goes to the door when she needs to go outside. She does have accidents overnight, but high fiber food and scheduled feeding have helped immensely. Kendall loves people, but prefer people to introduce themselves slowly - quick motions sometimes cause her to cower and run away. After she gets a few sniffs in, she'll roll over and show you her belly - belly rubs are her favorite. Kendall is very friendly on walks and plays well with other dogs, but resource guarding makes her a better fit for a single dog family home. Kendall is an absolute sweetheart who deserves a loving home all her own. Kendall's adoption fee is $75. She is spayed and up to date on shots. To meet Kendall fill out an adoption application at .pawprinthearts. Please NOTE: Kendall is a courtesy post. PPH cannot confirm the demeanor or health of Kendall.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
