Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Dog Sheepdog / Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Shyanne! This 1.5-year-old, 40lb Belgian Malinois mix—affectionately known as ShyShy or Maligator—is equal parts sweetness, silliness, and wiggle-butt enthusiasm. Found as a stray in rural Utah, she started out scared of everything, but with love and patience she’s blossoming into a happy, affectionate, kiss-giving girl. Shyanne adores other dogs and lives for playtime—running, chasing, and wrestling with her foster sisters. She would not thrive as an only dog, so a confident canine buddy is a must for her. She’s both housetrained and crate trained, and her crate is her safe space… though she prefers it without fluffy bedding (those don’t last long!). Like a true young Malinois, she’s smart, curious, and can be a bit sneaky when she’s bored. Chew toys, bones, and peanut-butter Kongs are her love language. With continued confidence-building and basic training, ShyShy has the potential to be an incredible running or hiking partner. She’s definitely not a couch potato—she needs an active home and a securely fenced yard to stretch her legs and enjoy her zoomies. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, energetic companion with a heart of gold, Shyanne is ready to be your girl. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
