Meet Daisy! This sweet girl was found wandering in a small town in Oklahoma. She had been spotted in an area for a few weeks so we suspect she was dumped. When no owner was able to be located, a local family got her safely secured in their yard and reached out to find her rescue. Daisy is estimated at 1.5 years old and she's about 115 lbs. She is house trainied, good with free roaming in the home and has already figured out the doggie door! Her foster parents are working on basic manners and she needs basic leash training. She is a friendly girl and your typical velcro Mastiff. Other than a mild ear infection, she appears to be in good health. We treated her for the ear issue and for intestinal parasites and she was thankfully negative for heartworms! Daisy has been good with dogs of all sizes. She loves her toys! She's still very puppy and a little too much for small kids. She would be OK in a home with older kids or an adult only home would be fine too. At this time we don't know if she is good with cats. Daisy is being fostered in Tulsa, OK Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!

Overview:

The Mastiff, an ancient and noble breed, boasts a history stretching back millennia, often linked to the Molosser dogs of antiquity. Renowned for their immense size, these gentle giants are characterized by their powerful, muscular build, broad head, and short, dense coat typically seen in fawn, apricot, or brindle. Despite their imposing appearance, Mastiffs are famous for their remarkably calm and gentle temperament, making them surprisingly affectionate and devoted companions. They generally get along well with children and other pets, provided they are properly socialized from a young age. While their size might suggest a need for vast spaces, their relatively low energy levels mean they can adapt to apartment living if given regular, moderate exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, and eye conditions, necessitating responsible breeding and veterinary care. Their loyalty and protective instincts, combined with their loving nature, make the Mastiff a truly magnificent addition to the right family.
