Description
Dog Breed: English Mastiff. . Boswell is a huge, stunning English Mastiff with a presence that turns heads everywhere he goes. This gentle giant was part of a breeding pair and later found himself at the shelter as a stray alongside his girlfriend, Mavis. Thankfully, he’s now safe with rescue and getting the fresh start he deserves. Boswell is a big boy inside and out, and while his size is impressive, his heart is even bigger. He prefers calmer dogs and peaceful households where he can truly relax and settle in. He’s learning to take treats gently (he’s catching on!) and enjoys nice, steady walks by your side. One of his favorite things? Jolly balls! Watching this massive boy happily bop one around is guaranteed to make you smile. Boswell would thrive in a home that understands giant breeds and appreciates the loyal, steady companionship an English Mastiff brings. If you’re looking for a devoted, mellow companion with soulful eyes and a giant heart, Boswell may just be your guy. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
