Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 350. Hi, I’m Stella… as in “Stellaaaa!” (but don’t worry, I only respond with tail wags and happy smiles). I’m a 1-2 year old, 40lb Lab Shepherd mix ready to kick off the New Year with a clean slate, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of joy. I’m smiley, happy-go-lucky, and basically the kind of positive energy everyone hopes to bring into the year ahead. Think: fresh starts, brighter days, and a little sparkle added to everyday life. My foster family loves to brag about me, so here are a few of my New Year’s Resolution–worthy qualities: ⁃ Certified Step Counting Sidekick: I walk beautifully on leash and would love to be your motivation to stick to those daily walk resolutions. Morning strolls, evening neighborhood loops, fresh air resets—I’m in. ⁃ Dog-Social & Playful: I can be a bit shy when meeting new friends at first, but once I know the vibe is friendly, I’m all in. I love romping, chasing, and wrestling with my dog pals—because life’s more fun with good company. ⁃ Food Motivated & Eager to Please: Treats and encouragement are my love language. I’m eager to learn, motivated to do my best, and genuinely proud of my progress. If “consistency” is your resolution, I’m right there with you. ⁃ Crate Trained & Growth Mindset: I’m crate trained and doing great, and I’m still polishing my house-training skills. Growth mindset? Check. New Year, better habits. ⁃ Built for Walks, Errands, & Weekend Escapes: I love car rides and hopping in to join you for errands, weekend plans, or spontaneous adventures. Big trips or small outings—if you’re going, I’m happy to tag along. This year could use more tail wags, couch cuddles, and joy—and I’m happy to supply all three. I promise to greet you like you’re the best part of my world, curl up beside you when the day winds down, and bring the kind of joy that’s always in season. Some resolutions are meant to be kept… especially the ones with four paws and a wagging tail. Love, Stella If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
