Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (medium coat). Here is a note from the finder of the pet: 1. He gets along great with other dogs (I have 2) 2. He loves children and loves being around them and letting them play with his fur 3. He is a very low energy dog that doesn't require much exercise 4. He is very gentle and sits for attention....great for old people 5. If he doesn't like anything, his reaction is to walk away....there's not an aggressive bone in his body. 6. He monitors his own food intake and will not over eat. 7. Anyone can take food, toys or bones away from him.....his reaction is to give puppy dog eyes ?? 8. He is house broken and went 8-12 hours over an evening w/o needed to go out.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
