Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Atlas is a young black male malinois. He is so full of energy. Atlas has prey drive that is over the top. He will NOT be placed with small dogs, cats, small animals, or children. No exceptions. Atlas is a big goofy puppy. He knows a few commands but definately needs some additional training and obedience. Atlas is house broken and crate trained. He plays well with some dogs his size. He is dog selective. He would do best in a home with no other pets of a female of similar size. Atlas is very strong and requires an experienced handler. He is not a first time owner malinois. He has a tendancy to redirect unless he is given firm guidance. If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link petstablished/adoption_form/24689/generic . We are an official 501C3 organziation that does not have a physical location. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance, however, the applicant must drive 50% of the total distance of the transport. The information that we have available is in our posting. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
