Description
Dog Breed: Beagle / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Stacy is a sweet, playful, and independent girl.. She still has her puppy energy and enjoys playtime, but when it’s time to relax, she’s more than happy to cuddle up with her favorite humans. She’s affectionate and expressive — when you pet her, she smiles and shows her happiness with the most adorable little tongue “blehps.” She has a graceful, agile way about her, almost cat-like in how she moves and carries herself. Despite not having much formal training, Stacy is a very good listener and already obeys commands well, she will be enjoyable for her future family to train and watch her blossom. Stacy seems to prefer people over other dogs, but having another dog in the home is not a deal breaker. She just needs a bit of time and patience to warm up and adjust. Her love for food is very strong — she begs and trends toward food-obsessed — which is likely a result of her past. Stacy was found alongside her sister in the middle of a busy road, searching for food, and it’s believed she experienced starvation before being rescued. With consistency, love, and reassurance, she continues to learn that she is safe now. Stacy is happiest in a home that can provide structure, patience, and consistency, along with plenty of love, attention, and enrichment. She’s a thoughtful, affectionate companion who will thrive with someone who appreciates her unique personality. Stacy is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/10 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8am-Noon. Breed overview
Overview:
The Jack-A-Bee is a captivating crossbreed, a delightful blend of the ever-popular Beagle and the spirited Jack Russell Terrier. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the best traits of both parents, these charming canines typically boast a compact yet muscular build, often inheriting the Beagle's distinct tri-color or bi-color coat patterns alongside the Jack Russell's expressive eyes and alert ears. Temperament-wise, they are a lively mix: expect the Beagle’s friendly, curious nature coupled with the Jack Russell’s energetic, intelligent, and sometimes mischievous streak. While adaptable, their energy levels make them better suited for active families or individuals who can provide ample exercise and mental stimulation; apartment living is possible with dedicated outdoor time. Potential health concerns may include those common to both parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain ear infections, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long, happy life.
