Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Porky is a 5-month-old pup who fully lives up to his name! This boy loves his food and treats. With his goofy personality, growing body, and extra lanky legs, he’s a constant source of laughs. He’s dog friendly and would thrive in a home with a playful canine sibling who can match his energetic, fun-loving style. Porky loves toys, especially his spotted elephant stuffy, and is always ready to play, romp, and explore. Porky is working on potty training and is already doing well making it through the night. When he’s ready to relax, you’ll usually find him claiming a warm chair for himself and settling in to recharge. Please apply to adopt at .TTRRescue or email TTRRescuegmail with any questions. Adoption Process Our adoption process helps match pets with their families. After submitting your cat or dog application, we contact references, and schedule a virtual or in-person home visit. We encourage virtual or in-person meet and greets with your potential new companion. Once everything is approved, we celebrate as your new furry friend officially becomes part of your family! Adoption Policies Out of State adoptions are possible for the right match but dependent on transport capabilities. At this time our adoptions are limited to applicants who are 18 or older. Virtual meet & greets are available for applicants without an application* In-person meet & greets are available for applicants with an application* We require adopters' pets to be up to date on their rabies vaccine as per NYS law and highly encourage additional vaccinations. *Depending on foster availability and comfort level. Adoption Fees By adopting, you're not just gaining a loving companion—your adoption donation helps us continue our mission to save more pets in need. Nearly 90% of our budget goes to cover vet fees for our foster pets. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
