Based on her body, we don’t think she had a very good 2025—but we know 2026 is going to be amazing for her. She’s been quiet, gentle, and understandably unsure of what’s happening. But now it’s Holly’s time to rest, to heal, and to learn what it feels like to be safe... and someday, to be chosen. Because this season isn’t about perfection—it’s about healing and second chances. And Holly’s story is just beginning. ✠̈ What we know about Holly so far... Holly already knows what it means to be part of a home. She understands routines, knows some basic commands, and has been a true little gem about letting us know when it’s time to go outside. She may be a bit shy when meeting new faces, but once she realizes you’re one of the good ones, her guard melts away and her gentle, loving spirit comes through. In some ways, it’s a little heartbreaking—Holly already knows what it means to have a home, and somehow, she lost it. We don’t know her full story, but we do know this: she deserves stability, safety, and a love that lasts. This time, we’re committed to making sure Holly doesn’t just find a home... she finds her forever. Holly is going to take a little extra work when she transitions into her forever home. Are you up for it? She’s a shy girl. New environments and new people take her a minute. She’s not the “walk in and own the room” type. She’s the “watch, assess, and decide you’re safe” type. And once she does? She’s incredible. In her foster home, Holly is awesome. Active, engaged, silly, and deeply loyal. We don’t know her exact age. We had a guess when she first came in — but she was looking pretty rough back then. Our amazing vet partner gave us another estimate later, but that was still based on a life that clearly hasn’t always been easy on her. Here’s what we do know: • She gets the zoomies. • She is very active. • She can absolutely be a couch potato. • She has been known to practice what can only be described as indoor parkour. Yes. Parkour. She’ll launch off furniture like an Olympic hopeful… and then 20 minutes later be snuggled into the couch, snoring like she worked a double shift. Holly isn’t perfect. She’s real. She’s layered. She’s a dog who needs a patient home that understands transitions take time. But if you’re willing to put in that little bit of extra effort at the beginning? You get a loyal, hilarious, deeply devoted companion on the other side. Could you be her forever home?

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
