Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Roxy Checking In! Hi friends! I wanted to give my MAD pack a little update. My leg is healing really well, and I’m getting closer every day to being fully recovered! While I have to admit I am over crate rest (a girl has places to be!), I know it’s all part of the plan so I can get back to enjoying life soon. As if that wasn’t enough excitement, my foster mom took me to the vet again and I was spayed — so yes… more rest, no running, and lots of patience required. I cannot wait for this chapter to be over! A little about me while I wait: I’m 3 years old located in CA An absolute sweetheart Crate trained & housebroken Dog-friendly A total Velcro girl — I want to be as close to my human as possible Still learning basic commands and how to “dog” properly (street life didn’t teach me much, unfortunately ) I am unsure about cats and little humans at this time so preferably a home without is best! I LOVE learning, I’m eager to please, and with the right person, I know I will absolutely thrive. I should be ready to head to my forever home in just a couple of weeks! Could that be with you? I’m ready to give my whole heart — I just need someone to give me the chance. Interested in being the change in these dog's lives? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
