Chance Black Male Mix | ~1 year old | 70 lbs Chance is a handsome, playful young dog who is ready to find his forever home. True to his age, he still has some puppy enthusiasm and absolutely loves to play — he’ll happily fetch just about anything you throw! After getting his energy out in the yard, Chance is content to relax, whether that’s lounging on the couch beside you or resting at your feet. Chance enjoys going for walks, though he can pull on leash and would benefit from continued training. He is fully house-broken, does wonderfully in his crate, and sleeps quietly through the night. He loves chewing on bones and stuffed toys and is very comfortable with a daily routine. He is a good alert dog and will bark when strangers approach, but he is friendly and social once he meets people. Chance has a very sweet personality and bonds well with his humans. Chance has limited experience with dogs his own size, but with proper introductions we feel he would do well. He enjoys playing with a smaller, older dog in his current home, though his enthusiasm can be a bit much at times. On walks, he shows curiosity toward other animals and appears playful rather than aggressive. He does well with elementary-age children, though he may jump up occasionally in excitement — something that continued training can easily address. Chance has been exposed to cats and chickens. With cats, he shows playful curiosity and may chase, but the cat he met was not interested in playing back. Around chickens, he may briefly chase but has never seriously harmed them; they are currently coexisting well in his foster home. Chance is looking for an active family who will continue working with him and help him grow into the best dog he can be. He has so much love to give and is ready to show his new family just how wonderful he is.
