Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 375. Meet Badger Badger got a heartbreaking start to life. Found at just a few weeks old alongside their siblings - Piggy, Magpie, and Mouse - abandoned in a bag inside a trash can in Georgia, they were thankfully discovered in time and lovingly bottle-fed, giving them the chance to survive and thrive. Now healthy, growing, and full of puppy curiosity, this sweet pup has made the journey by plane to Virginia and is ready to find a forever home. Despite such a rough beginning, they are resilient, affectionate, and eager to learn what it means to be safe and loved. If you’re ready to open your heart to a puppy who’s already overcome so much, this little survivor may be the perfect addition to your family. 100% of every adoption fee is used to rescue and care for homeless animals. Please consider donating to help us more rescue animals.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
