Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). Angelo is a tiny boy around 4 lbs. He is about 12 yrs old. Angelo loves kisses and being held. He also loves to explore the yard. Angelo has a back leg that was broken and never properly set so he does most use three legs. Fixing his leg is not really an option. Sweet boy also has no teeth but that does not stop him from eating. He is housetrained but he will mark if other dogs have marked in the house so lots of trips outside are needed. He is fine with cats (smaller then most) and seems fine with all other dogs. We are not sure he has been around kids but we think he will be just fine as long they do not want to pick him up and risk dropping him. He does not play with toys. We did bloodwork on him and he is healthy. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.

Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
