Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Ralphie! No food. No shelter. Not even a year old (10 months) and forced to survive on his own. He waited on the porch for days, believing they would come back. They never did. Thankfully a kind woman noticed and spoke up! Ralphie had had his shots, been dewormed, and is gaining weight so he can be neutered. He is just 24 pounds and loves people. Those ears though!! They just flop! We believe based on neighbors accounts that he never went outside and this is why he is so scared of dogs. We are slowly working to help him realize dogs are ok. We aren’t sure about cats but based on the fact that he never left his porch and cats roamed freely we believe he is ok with them. He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Ralphie is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT RALPHIE!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
