Description
Dog Breed: Beagle / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 600. Meet Lux! This sweet little guy is a total heart-melter. For such a young puppy, he’s incredibly mellow, tolerant, and well-mannered. He adores physical affection from both people and other dogs and is happiest when he’s close to someone—especially curled up in a lap for snuggles. He plays beautifully with his sibling, complete with playful growls and the cutest little bark, and he does great around the resident dogs too. Here’s a sweet video of Lux playing. When playtime winds down, he settles quickly into his kennel at night and rarely whines. He’s content sleeping on a cozy blanket on his own, but will never turn down a lap to snooze on instead. He’s doing well with pottying outside and has even started running and playing in the snow in short bursts, though he’s still a baby and not fully house trained yet. His loving nature shines through in everything he does—especially when he gazes up at you, falls asleep on your lap, and completely steals your heart. Lux is from a local reservation. Breed overview
Overview:
The Labbe, an increasingly popular designer dog breed, is a delightful mix of the outgoing Beagle and the loyal Labrador Retriever. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parents, Labbes are known for their medium size, typically weighing between 30-70 pounds, and possessing a sturdy, athletic build. Their coats are usually short and dense, varying in color like their Lab parents, and their ears often retain the Beagle's charming flop. Temperamentally, Labbes are renowned for being friendly, intelligent, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets that thrive on companionship. While adaptable, their moderate energy levels mean they benefit from regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards, although they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient outdoor activity. Potential health considerations, inherited from their parent breeds, can include hip and elbow dysplasia, ear infections, and certain eye conditions, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups crucial for these engaging companions.
