Remi – Yellow Female • 1.5 Years • 65 lbs Remi is a sweet, gentle young dog who has spent the past year living outdoors alongside several other dogs—and even a couple of cats. When her family tragically lost their home and had to move, Remi suddenly found herself without a place to go. That’s when LRRF stepped in to give her the second chance she deserves. Now in foster care, Remi has been spayed, fully vaccinated, and showered with love. She’s ready to start her new life with a family who will include her in their daily routines and give her the companionship she craves. Remi rides great in the car, walks calmly on a leash, and is well mannered in the house, though still perfecting her potty training She is crate familiar, she’d much rather snooze on a cozy dog bed near her people Remi is social and playful, getting along well with dogs of all sizes. She would do best in a home with another dog to play with or with a person/people who are home with her most of the day. And of course… “Did someone say bird?” Remi’s ears perk right up. She was bred for hunting, and that instinct is alive and well. Continued training and regular exercise will help her to funnel her instincts to positive behaviors. Overview:

The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
