Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process Meet Maisy. This cutie was dumped with her sister at a house, where she lived in their garage until we took them in. She is approx 3.5 mos old Shetland Sheepdog mix and just under 5lbs. She loves being around other dogs and would benefit being in a home with another dog. She is independent and curious and showing us just how smart she is already. Her forever home must be local to Orange County and be willing to bring her to Huntington Beach for her spay appointment, when ready. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
