Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hi there! My name is Nicholas and I am a 9 month old sweet boy that can't wait to find my furever home! I came to the shelter as a stray so while not much is known about my past, the staff has tried there best to nail down my personality. I didn't seem to mind the cats during my cat testing and I loved playing with a dog just my size! I actually come out of my shy shell a little bit more when there is a dog around. I love the people who care for me and never want them to leave my side. I'm a typical puppy and will need training. But like most puppies I am eager to please and cant wait to join your family! Come meet me and some of the other dogs here, one of us is certainly the right fit for your home! I may look big in my pictures but I am only 30lbs and shouldn't get much bigger than I already am!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at infoawlwarsaw if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
