Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Meet Tank Tank is a handsome 1.5–2 year old male Cane Corso who is looking for a fresh start and a forever home of his own. Tank previously lived in an apartment with four children. When dad moved out, a single mom juggling four kids became overwhelmed, and since Tank was originally dad’s dog, the difficult decision was made to surrender him so he could get the stability and attention he deserves. Tank is crate trained and house trained, well-behaved, and respectful in the home. He can be a little shy at first meet, but once he settles in, he loves being part of the action and hanging out with his people. He enjoys a good bone, has nice manners, and is an overall easy companion. He is dog friendly and previously lived successfully with a small dog. Tank will be neutered prior to adoption. Tank would do best in a home that understands the Cane Corso breed and is ready to include him as a true member of the family. He’s a sweet boy who just needs his second chance. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
