Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky / Alaskan Malamute / Mixed (medium coat). A husky who doesn't howl?! Yup â we've got one! Meet Wreath, a 3-year-old Siberian Husky. And believe it or not, we haven't heard a single bark or howl from him yet. He's currently thriving in a foster home with five other dogsâyes, fiveâand is doing wonderfully. He's dog-social, people-social, and fully potty trained. He does love a good wrestling session with his dog friendsâbut once he's gotten his playtime in, he's all about the naps. His favorite? Curling up with his people, especially with his head resting right on you. The only thing to note: Wreath has a strong interest in small crittersâsquirrels and cats beware. At 70 pounds, he's a solid boy and can give a strong pull on leash, so he'll do best with a confident handler. Other than that? Nothing but glowing reviews from his foster mom. And just look at that face⦠what a strikingly handsome boy! To be charmed, make an appointment to meet Wreath at yoloshelter/dogs or email adoptyoloshelter.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Alusky, a captivating hybrid of the Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky, originated from the desire to blend the best traits of these powerful Arctic breeds. Physically, they are medium to large dogs, boasting a thick double coat that comes in a variety of colors and often features the striking blue or bi-colored eyes inherited from the Husky, alongside the sturdy build of the Malamute. Temperamentally, Aluskys are known for being intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They thrive on human companionship and require significant exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While generally good with families, their high energy levels and strong prey drive mean they are less suited for apartment living and benefit from a secure yard. Potential owners should be aware of common health concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye conditions, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups essential for a healthy companion.
