Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adopted Pepper about 5 years ago as a 2 year old. She has always had boundless energy and love to run along the fence chasing and barking at a cow nearby. She has never run away and just wants to be near us. Any stranger or acqaintence that may come in the drive, she is ready to jump in and go for a ride. She loves all people and has never bitten a person, but is extremely competitive with other dogs. She has lived with my two cats indoors and out for 5 years and never chased them. She has attacked a visiting dog resulting in an eye extraction this summer . She has repeatedly attacked tour Corgi x 4 and cannot be trusted to be near any of our three other dogs. She is quick to please and knows basic commands. She run/walks with me 3-.4 miles 3x week. She has no health problems and eats well. She can no longer come in our home with the other dogs. This problem is compounded by the fact that we are moving out of state. **** Breed: catahoula cattle dog mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2192099&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
